Showing my true colours...

I want to show colour options live on the site while you are making your purchase. I have an app in mind to add to the site that will do this, essentially allowing you to interact with colour swatches and see the product change colour live, right on your screen. The only real catch is that I will need to generate the images in 3D space (the bulk of the work is done; I have to create the colours) to work within the app.

As much as I would love to show all the real-world colours, it's just not feasible given how many options there are and will be, and photography would be a nightmare —having to get each rack component colour to perfectly line up over the next. It's just out of the question. I don't have enough experience in that area of photography.

So with that, I'll try my hand at moving forward with the 3D designs. I've already tackled creating MDF textures —both clean and burnt —to represent best what you'll receive on the MDF sprues. Acrylic is a little trickier to look right, as it's essentially just glossy solid fill colour.

But I'm on target to give you a purchasing experience that, as closely as possible, represents what you'll actually receive. Still moving forward...
